The liquorice candy is made according to ancient traditions. Plenty of berries replace some of the sugar and give the candy its bright colours and fantastic taste. The liquorice is cooked with wholemeal rice flour and 10% raw liquorice, which gives the liquorice candy amazing depth and aftertaste. The liquorice bar is made exclusively from natural ingredients and can therefore vary in taste and colour.

ABOUT HATTESENS KONFEKTFABRIK
The founders, Jette and Claus Hattesen, have run a café, hotel and ice cream shop on Ærø for the past 26 years. Their three daughters are part of the daily operations. Closeness, honesty and integrity are essential ingredients in their everyday life. At Christmas 2013, Claus Hattesen had the idea for a new liquorice confectionery. ‘We deserve better’ was the mantra. In the years that followed, the family turned the idea of a ‘gourmet liquorice confectionery’ on its head, and in June 2016 the first boxes of Hattesens Lakridskonfekt were sold.
